Badin The Regional Director of the Provincial Ombudsman (Mohtasib) Badin, Abdul Wahab Memon, held an open public hearing (khuli kacheri) at the District Accounts Office, Badin, where he listened to the grievances of government employees from various departments and issued several directives for their immediate resolution.
According to details, a large number of serving and retired government employees attended the session to raise issues related to pensions, GP funds, and delayed salaries. During the proceedings, Regional Director Abdul Wahab Memon listened carefully to the complaints and ordered that many cases be resolved on the spot.
He emphasized that the purpose of such open hearings is to address employees’ problems — especially those of retired and serving staff — on a priority basis. Commending the District Accounts Officer, Arif Hussain Mirani, for his integrity and dedication, Memon remarked, “Officers who keep their doors open to the public embody the true spirit of service.”
During the hearing, Shahzad Memon, a schoolteacher from the Education Department, complained that his salary had been suspended for the past 15 months despite repeated visits to the Accounts Office. Other complainants, including Abdul Majeed and Allah Bachayo Jamali, also presented their cases regarding financial matters, after which the Ombudsman issued on-the-spot instructions for action.
Addressing the Accounts Office staff, the Regional Director directed that no unnecessary delays be made in resolving legitimate issues and that transparency be ensured in all administrative matters. He further instructed that cases concerning pensions, GP funds, and salary disbursements be treated as a top priority so that employees are spared unnecessary hardship.
Government and retired employees attending the session expressed appreciation, saying such open hearings allow their concerns to reach senior authorities directly, raising hopes for timely redress.
Memon assured the participants that if their issues are not resolved at the District Accounts Office, they may directly approach his office, which remains open to the public at all times.
During the session, District Accounts Officer Arif Hussain Mirani provided a detailed briefing, confirming that during the current month, cases relating to GP Fund payments, teaching allowances, pensions, and LPR (Leave Preparatory to Retirement) settlements have all been finalized.
