HYDERABAD: Hyderabad Police have arrested six suspects during separate operations targeting criminal elements, illegal weapons, narcotics, and gutka suppliers across the district.
The operations were carried out on the directives of DIG Hyderabad Range Tariq Razaq Khan Dharijo and SSP Hyderabad Shahzeb Chachar as part of an ongoing campaign against crime.
Two Wanted Suspects Arrested with Weapon
A team from Naseem Nagar Check Post, led by Inspector Benazir Jamali, conducted an intelligence-based operation near Sehrish Nagar Phatak Grid Station Road, where two suspects were arrested.
According to the police, the suspects were wanted in Crime No. 366/2026 under Sections 353, 324, and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
Police said one of the arrested suspects, Riaz Hussain Sahag, was found in possession of a 9mm pistol and ammunition. A separate case, Crime No. 369/2026, has been registered against him under Section 23(A) of the Sindh Arms Act.
Gutka Suppliers Held
In another operation, Market Police Station, under the supervision of SHO Inspector Niaz Muhammad Khoso, arrested two suspects identified as Zafar Samo and Shehzad Shoro during routine patrolling.
Police claimed to have recovered 200 gutka sachets from their possession.
A case, Crime No. 250/2026, has been registered against the suspects under Section 8 of the Gutka and Mainpuri Act.
Liquor Recovered in Separate Raids
Separately, City Police Station, led by SHO Inspector Tahir Mughal, arrested a suspect identified as Mehroz Ali Yousafzai during patrol.
Police stated that two bottles of liquor were recovered from his possession. A case, Crime No. 125/2026, has been registered under Sections 3 and 4 of the Prohibition (Hudood) Order.
Meanwhile, A-Section Police Station, under SHO Inspector Munir Ahmed Abbasi, conducted an intelligence-led operation during patrolling and arrested a suspect identified as Fawad Ghani Siddiqui.
According to police, officers recovered two bottles of liquor and seven beer cans from the suspect’s possession. A case, Crime No. 332/2026, has also been registered under Sections 3 and 4 of the Prohibition (Hudood) Order.
Further Operations Continue
Hyderabad Police said the campaign against criminals, drug traffickers, illegal arms holders, and suppliers of banned substances will continue across the district.
The police statement added that further investigations are underway, while additional operations are being carried out to apprehend other suspects allegedly involved in criminal activities.
The allegations against the arrested individuals have been made by police, and their guilt will be determined through the judicial process.
