KARACHI: The Sindh College Education Department has announced admissions to government colleges for Intermediate (First Year) and released the merit lists for students seeking admission for the new academic session.
According to the department, the admission lists for students selected for government colleges have been published, allowing applicants to check the institutions allocated to them based on the prescribed merit criteria.
Officials said that admissions to students’ preferred colleges have been granted strictly on merit.
The Director General Colleges stated that more than 160,000 applications for Intermediate admissions were received from across Sindh during the current admission cycle.
Karachi recorded the highest number of applicants, with 98,646 students submitting applications for admission to government colleges.
The large number of applications reflects the strong demand for admission to public-sector colleges in the province.
The Education Department has advised all selected students to confirm their admissions by July 31 to complete the admission process.
Officials warned that applicants who fail to confirm their admission within the stipulated deadline may risk losing their allocated seats, in accordance with the admission policy.
Students have been urged to visit the official admissions portal or their respective colleges to complete the required formalities, including document verification and fee submission where applicable.
The merit-based admission process is intended to ensure transparency and equal opportunities for students seeking enrollment in government colleges across Karachi and the rest of Sindh.
Education authorities said further admission rounds, if required, will be conducted in accordance with the availability of vacant seats after the confirmation deadline. They encouraged students to regularly check official notifications for any updates regarding subsequent merit lists or admission procedures.
