A 10th-grade student in India allegedly attacked his teacher with a screwdriver, leaving the teacher seriously injured.

According to Indian media, the incident occurred at a government school in a village in the state of Haryana.

School Principal Pratap Chakravarty said that teacher Sunil Beret was conducting a class for 10th-grade students and checking homework when a student approached him from behind and attacked him with a screwdriver.

The principal stated that the student stabbed the teacher multiple times in the neck, causing severe injuries. The teacher was immediately taken to a hospital for medical treatment, while the student fled the scene.

Police said they are investigating the incident from all angles and are collecting evidence from the classroom. Preliminary findings suggest that the student was upset over the school’s ban on bringing mobile phones onto campus.

Note: The reported motive is based on the preliminary police investigation and has not been confirmed as the final conclusion.
