SUKKUR: As part of the “Safe Sukkur, Strong Pakistan” vision, the Civil Defence Department has stepped up efforts to promote basic emergency response training at the community level across the city.
Acting on the special directives of Deputy Commissioner and Controller Civil Defence Sukkur Nadir Shehzad Khan and Deputy Chief Warden Civil Defence Dr. Saeed Awan, a delegation led by Dr. Saeed Awan, accompanied by other Civil Defence officers, met Haji Muhammad Javed Memon, President of the Sorath Memon Jamat, at his office.
During the meeting, the Civil Defence delegation formally requested the organization to collaborate in arranging community-based Civil Defence training programmes.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Saeed Awan highlighted the significance of Civil Defence training, stating that equipping citizens with first aid, rescue techniques, fire safety, CPR, and other emergency response skills has become increasingly important in view of natural disasters, fires, accidents, and other emergencies.
He said Civil Defence Sukkur is committed to extending these training programmes to every neighborhood, institution, and social organization in the city to enhance public preparedness and resilience.
Addressing the gathering, Haji Muhammad Javed Memon stressed that every Pakistani should receive basic Civil Defence training to help protect lives and property during emergencies and natural disasters.
He praised the efforts of Civil Defence Sukkur for raising public awareness and conducting training programmes across the city, while assuring the department of his organization’s full support in expanding these initiatives.
The meeting was also attended by Group Warden Muhammad Ahmed Sheikh, Post Warden Muhammad Ali, and Civil Defence officers Muhammad Asif Sheikh, Fayyaz Ahmed, Lala Imran Mirani, Muhammad Yaseen Qamar, Lala Rehan Pathan, Shahab Hussain, Muhammad Yousuf Rana, Muhammad Tahir, Adil Ashraf, Muzaffar Ahmed, Ashiq Ali, and Mahmood-ul-Hasan.
