ISLAMABAD: Pakistan imported mobile phones worth Rs530.49 billion during the last fiscal year, reflecting the country’s continued dependence on imported handsets.
According to official documents, mobile phone imports recorded a 1.07% year-on-year increase, while imports in June 2026 rose by 11.73% compared with the previous month.
The data show that during fiscal year 2025–26, Pakistan imported mobile phones valued at Rs530.49 billion, compared with Rs416.94 billion in fiscal year 2024–25.
In June 2026 alone, the country imported mobile phones worth Rs39.455 billion, slightly higher than the Rs39.04 billion recorded in June 2025.
The latest figures indicate that demand for imported smartphones and mobile devices remains strong despite economic challenges and efforts to encourage local assembly and manufacturing.
