Dengue cases are witnessing a sharp increase across Punjab, prompting the provincial health department to issue a public alert.
According to official figures, 61 confirmed dengue cases were reported across Punjab in the last 24 hours. Lahore recorded 15 new cases, raising the city’s total tally to 290 confirmed patients.
Rawalpindi remains the worst affected, with 29 new cases reported in a single day, taking its overall total to 756 confirmed dengue patients.
Across the province, the total number of confirmed dengue cases has now reached 1,618.
Health authorities have urged citizens to take preventive measures, including eliminating stagnant water, using mosquito repellents, and ensuring proper sanitation to curb the spread of the virus.
Hospitals across Punjab have also been instructed to remain on high alert and ensure the availability of beds and medical facilities for dengue patients.
