Pakistan’s pharmaceutical industry is expected to attract $1 billion investment as the government has invited 130 major Chinese investment companies to Pakistan.
A three-day international pharmaceutical conference, organized by the Ministry of National Health Services, is scheduled to take place in Karachi from July 17 to 19 with major Chinese pharmaceutical firms expected to participate.
The Chinese companies are expected to invest in the manufacturing of medical devices, vaccines, pharmaceutical raw materials, and surgical products. The conference will facilitate agreements on technology transfer, the establishment of joint manufacturing units, and broader industrial collaboration. Officials expect total investment in Pakistan’s pharmaceutical market is projected to reach $5 billion within a few years. Around 150 Pakistani pharmaceutical and investment companies are also expected to attend the country’s largest industry gatherings. The conference will mark Pakistan’s first-ever B2B pharmaceutical investment forum dedicated to Chinese companies
