Islamabad: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has completed his one-day official visit to Pakistan and departed for Iran after a series of high-level meetings aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and regional cooperation.
The Iranian president was seen off at Islamabad by Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, and other senior Pakistani officials. The farewell ceremony marked the conclusion of a visit that focused on enhancing diplomatic engagement between the two neighboring countries.
During the departure ceremony, President Pezeshkian was presented with a special photo album containing images and highlights from his visit to Pakistan. The gesture reflected the cordial relations between Islamabad and Tehran and commemorated the various engagements held during the trip.
President Pezeshkian arrived in Pakistan on Tuesday for a one-day official visit. His aircraft landed at Nur Khan Airbase in Islamabad, where he was received by Pakistani officials amid diplomatic protocol and security arrangements.
During his stay, the Iranian president held meetings with Pakistan’s top leadership, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari. Discussions reportedly focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, energy, border management, regional connectivity, and security matters.
The two sides also exchanged views on regional and international developments, emphasizing the importance of peace, stability, and economic cooperation in the broader region. Both countries reiterated their commitment to enhancing ties based on mutual respect, shared interests, and longstanding historical and cultural connections.
The visit came at a time when Pakistan and Iran are seeking to deepen economic and diplomatic engagement while addressing common regional challenges. Officials from both countries expressed optimism that continued dialogue and cooperation would further strengthen bilateral relations.
