Sukkur (Bureau Report): The Sukkur Electric Power Company (SEPCO) carried out a large-scale operation against electricity theft in various parts of the city, removing hundreds of illegal connections and confiscating thousands of meters of unauthorized wires, which were later destroyed.

According to details, under the special directives of SEPCO Chief Executive Officer Ijaz Ahmed Channa and the leadership of Superintending Engineer (SE) Abdul Haq Siyal, an ongoing anti-electricity theft campaign was intensified through a grand operation conducted by the Sub-Division One team in different areas of Sukkur.

The operation was supervised by Shujaat Ali Ghumro, Majid Shah, and SDO Muhammad Ramzan Malik, who actively participated in and monitored the anti-theft activities alongside the field teams.

A large contingent of SEPCO officials conducted raids in Ayub Gate, Railway Yard Colony, Station Road, and surrounding localities, disconnecting hundreds of illegal electricity connections and seizing thousands of meters of wires used for power theft. The confiscated wires were later destroyed at an open ground behind Sukkur Railway Station.

During the operation, electricity connections of several defaulters who had failed to pay their outstanding dues were also disconnected.

According to SEPCO officials, these actions are being carried out under the supervision and special instructions of SE Abdul Haq Siyal, with the objective of completely eliminating electricity theft and ensuring a fair and reliable power supply to consumers.
