Ziarat, Balochistan: Authorities have confirmed the recovery of three individuals, including a police officer, who were abducted nearly two weeks ago from the Mangi area near Ziarat in Balochistan. One person, however, remains missing.
The victims were reportedly kidnapped during an attack in which armed assailants also set several coal-laden trucks on fire.
Incident Took Place on May 21
According to SP Ziarat Talal Shah, the incident occurred on May 21 on the Harnai Road near Mangi, where unidentified armed men intercepted vehicles transporting coal.
The attackers allegedly set five coal-loaded trucks ablaze before abducting several individuals at gunpoint.
The incident triggered a security response and efforts by law enforcement agencies to trace the whereabouts of the kidnapped persons.
Police Officer Among Those Abducted
SP Talal Shah stated that the kidnappers took away four individuals during the attack.
Those abducted included:
- Police officer Masood Khan Panizai
- Ashraf Khan Panizai
- Javed Panizai
- Malik Sheen Gul Tareen
According to police, Masood Khan Panizai, Ashraf Khan Panizai, and Javed Panizai were abducted from the Mangi area, while Malik Sheen Gul Tareen was reportedly kidnapped from Naks at gunpoint.
Three Hostages Recovered
Police officials confirmed that three of the four abducted individuals have now been recovered.
The recovered persons include:
- Masood Khan Panizai
- Ashraf Khan Panizai
- Javed Panizai
Authorities have not yet released detailed information regarding the circumstances of their recovery or where they were found.
The individuals were recovered on Wednesday after nearly two weeks in captivity.
One Person Still Missing
Despite the successful recovery of three hostages, Malik Sheen Gul Tareen remains unaccounted for.
Law enforcement agencies continue search and recovery efforts aimed at locating him and ensuring his safe return.
