The number of Hajj pilgrims arriving in Saudi Arabia has reached 1.518 million, according to officials from the Hajj Security Forces.
In a press briefing held in Makkah, commanders of the Hajj security forces confirmed that a total of 1,518,000 pilgrims from different countries have arrived in the Kingdom to perform Hajj this year.
Officials further stated that around 30% of the pilgrims arrived through the Makkah Route Initiative, a special program designed to facilitate immigration and travel procedures for pilgrims before they reach Saudi Arabia.
They added that modern technology is being extensively used to ensure smooth management and provide better services to the pilgrims. Advanced systems are helping authorities manage crowd control, transportation, and security arrangements more efficiently during the Hajj season.
The officials emphasized that ensuring the safety and comfort of pilgrims remains the top priority, and all relevant departments are working in coordination to handle the large influx of visitors in the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah.
Meanwhile, millions of worshippers gathered at Masjid al-Haram on the first Friday of Dhul-Hijjah, where they offered Friday prayers. The Imam of the Kaaba, Sheikh Maher Al-Muaiqly, highlighted the spiritual significance and blessings of the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah in his sermon.
Saudi authorities continue to manage one of the world’s largest annual religious gatherings, focusing on crowd management, health services, transportation, and security to ensure a safe and organized pilgrimage experience for all Hajj participants.
