Pakistan Railways has decided to operate three special trains between different cities across the country on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha to facilitate passengers traveling to their hometowns for the holidays.

According to railway officials, the first Eid special train will depart from Quetta for Rawalpindi today at 10:00 AM. The move is aimed at reducing travel difficulties and accommodating the expected increase in passenger traffic during the festive season.

A spokesperson for Pakistan Railways stated that the special train will consist of eight economy-class coaches and one power van. The train will travel through several major cities and stations, including Sibi, Jacobabad, Sukkur, Multan, and Lahore, before reaching Rawalpindi on May 24.

Officials said the train will have the capacity to carry more than 500 passengers, providing an affordable travel option for people returning home to celebrate Eid-ul-Adha with their families.

Pakistan Railways authorities further stated that comprehensive arrangements have been finalized to ensure the timely and efficient operation of the Eid special trains. Instructions have been issued to railway staff and operational teams to maintain smooth services and minimize delays during the busy travel period.

The decision to run special trains comes as thousands of people are expected to travel across the country ahead of Eid-ul-Adha. Railway officials believe the additional train services will help reduce pressure on regular trains and provide greater convenience to passengers.

In previous years, Pakistan Railways has introduced special Eid train operations to cope with increased travel demand during religious festivals. These services are particularly popular among passengers seeking economical and long-distance transportation.

Passengers have welcomed the announcement, especially travelers from Balochistan and other distant regions who often face difficulties in securing tickets during peak holiday seasons. The special train service is expected to improve connectivity between major cities and help facilitate safer and more comfortable travel.

Railway authorities have advised passengers to arrive at stations on time and follow travel guidelines to avoid inconvenience. Additional security and operational measures are also expected to remain in place during the Eid travel period to ensure passenger safety and smooth train operations across the network.
