Saudi Arabia’s Grand Mufti, Sheikh Saleh Al-Fawzan, has urged Muslims around the world to maximize their worship and good deeds during the first ten blessed days of Dhul Hijjah, describing them as among the most virtuous days in the Islamic calendar.

In his message, Sheikh Al-Fawzan encouraged Muslims to engage more frequently in prayers, charity, fasting, and remembrance of Allah during these sacred days, emphasizing their special spiritual significance.

He stated that acts of worship performed in the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah are highly beloved to Allah, and believers should take advantage of this valuable period for increased devotion and righteousness.

The Grand Mufti particularly highlighted the importance of fasting on the Day of Arafah for those who are not performing Hajj. He said that fasting on this day carries great reward and serves as expiation for sins of two years.

“This day holds immense virtue for those who are not performing pilgrimage,” he noted, referring to the spiritual benefits of fasting on Arafah.

Sheikh Al-Fawzan also reminded Muslims intending to offer Qurbani (sacrifice) that they should refrain from cutting their hair and nails after the sighting of the Dhul Hijjah moon until the sacrifice is performed, in accordance with Islamic teachings.

He explained that this practice is part of the Sunnah and reflects discipline and obedience during the days of sacrifice.

Religious scholars widely regard the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah as a spiritually significant period, during which good deeds are believed to carry multiplied rewards.

Muslims around the world observe these days with increased prayer, fasting, recitation of the Quran, and charitable acts, as they prepare for Eid-ul-Adha, one of the most important Islamic festivals.

The message from the Saudi Grand Mufti serves as a reminder for believers to take advantage of this blessed period for spiritual reflection, self-purification, and closer connection with Allah.

As the Islamic month of Dhul Hijjah approaches its peak, mosques and religious scholars across many countries also encourage similar practices, emphasizing unity, compassion, and devotion among the Muslim community.
