A solemn farewell was given to three personnel martyred in the Darazinda Aman Mela joint check post blast as their funeral prayers were held with full state honours at Ejaz Shaheed Police Lines in Dera Ismail Khan.
The martyrs were identified as Customs Head Constable Farman, Sepoy Usama and Rescue 1122 official Sharifullah, who lost their lives in the blast at the joint check post.
Commissioner Dera Division Daud Khan, Station Commander Brigadier Salman Adil Shah, Regional Police Officer Dera Ghulam Mubashir Maken and District Police Officer Dera Ziauddin Ahmad attended the funeral prayers along with senior officials from Customs and Rescue 1122, security forces and police.
Members of the martyrs’ families were also present at the funeral, where the fallen personnel were honored for their service and sacrifice.
A police contingent presented a guard of honor to the martyrs, while floral wreaths were laid on their remains as a mark of respect.
Prayers were offered for the elevation of the martyrs’ ranks, their forgiveness and eternal peace, as well as patience and strength for their grieving families.
The participants paid tribute to the three men, saying that those who sacrifice their lives for the country’s peace and security are a valuable national asset and that their sacrifices will always be remembered.
They said the sacrifices of the martyrs would not go in vain, while the nation would continue to salute those who lose their lives while serving and protecting the country.
CM Sohail Afridi demands APC after Darazinda blast
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi arrived in Dera Ismail Khan and visited those injured in the Darazinda blasts. He also met former KP chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur at his residence, where the two leaders held a meeting.
Speaking at a press conference at Al-Amin House, Afridi expressed grief over the Darazinda incident and strongly condemned the attack.
Afridi said that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had been warning about terrorism for some time. He said they had already been raising their voices over the worsening security situation in the province.
He said that the ongoing fight against terrorism was not only affecting the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but also resulting in the deaths of Pakistan Army soldiers.
Afridi said the provincial government had provided Rs35 billion to the police for maintaining peace and security. He stressed that peace was important to the government and said it was painful to see children, women and young people losing their lives.
The chief minister also criticised the federal government and said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was not being given the All Parties Conference (APC) despite the province having already made its payment.
Afridi said the federal government should provide the APC to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, arguing that the province was directly facing the consequences of terrorism.
“Janaaze hum utha rahe hain, hamara sooba zakhmi hai,” Afridi said, highlighting the suffering caused by terrorism in the province.
He said his government did not accept a closed-door policy and stressed that lasting peace could not be achieved without taking the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa into confidence.
Afridi said anyone who takes up arms against Pakistan is a terrorist. He added that the situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan was serious and required attention.
The chief minister said the provincial government was serious about eliminating terrorism and would provide a martyr package to those who lose their lives in the ongoing wave of terrorism.
Afridi also said the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were being subjected to what he described as a false narrative, adding that the province knew the reality of the situation.
