The Islamabad Model Jail project, which has remained pending for 15 years, is nearing completion, with the government deciding to inaugurate the facility next month.
A meeting chaired by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry reviewed in detail the ongoing construction work and progress on the model jail project.
Mohsin Naqvi directed the authorities to complete all remaining work before the inauguration. He said all necessary measures should be taken on time to ensure completion of the project and there should be no unnecessary delay at any stage.
The interior minister said there was no room for further delay in completing the model jail project, which had remained pending for 15 years. He directed the relevant authorities to complete all construction, administrative and other necessary work before the inauguration.
He also instructed all relevant institutions to work in coordination to ensure that the project was completed within the timeframe.
Talal Chaudhry said the work on the model jail was being monitored continuously. He added that the project would be completed within the scheduled timeframe in coordination with all relevant institutions.
The meeting also reviewed the remaining work on the model jail, administrative matters and preparations for its inauguration.
The Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency, Federal Prosecutor General, Inspector General of Islamabad Police, Director General of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency and other relevant officials attended the meeting.
