Sukkur Police Intensify Crackdown on Criminals and Drug Peddlers, Seven Suspects Arrested

SUKKUR (Danish Rajput): On the special directives of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sukkur Ahmed Faisal Chaudhry, Sukkur Police have intensified their crackdown against criminal elements and drug peddlers, conducting operations at various locations across the district and arresting seven suspects.

According to police, officers from different police stations carried out targeted operations as part of the ongoing campaign against criminals and other anti-social elements. During the operations, police recovered cash, mobile phones, an unlicensed TT pistol and an Okara betting slip book from the arrested suspects.

A team of A-Section Police Station conducted an operation near Ten Dabba Market on Dhak Road during routine patrolling. Police arrested five suspects identified as Faheem son of Anwar Ansari, Shahnawaz son of Baradi Mirani, Rana Sultan son of Rana Jameel Rajput, Munir son of Imam Bakhsh Mangi, and Nasrullah son of Rabnawaz Sheikh.

Police claimed that Rs13,000 in cash, two mobile phones and a book containing Okara betting slips were recovered from their possession. A case was subsequently registered against the arrested suspects under the relevant legal provisions.

In another action, police encountered three armed suspects near the Railway Quarters area on Wari Tare Road. During the alleged exchange of fire, two suspects managed to escape, while police succeeded in arresting one suspect identified as Muhammad Farooq son of Abdul Sattar Brohi.

Police recovered an unlicensed TT pistol from the possession of the arrested suspect. A case, registered as FIR No. 279/2026, was subsequently filed against him under the relevant sections of the law.

Meanwhile, personnel of the C-Section Police Station carried out another operation near Gadani Phatak and arrested Asghar Ali son of Ghulam Akbar Magsi. Police recovered an unlicensed TT pistol from his possession.

A case was registered against Asghar Ali under the provisions of the Sindh Arms Act, and further legal proceedings were initiated.

SSP Sukkur Ahmed Faisal Chaudhry has directed all police officers and personnel to continue taking effective action against criminal elements, drug peddlers and other anti-social elements and to maintain strict vigilance across the district.

Police officials said that the ongoing operations are aimed at improving law and order, preventing criminal activities and ensuring the safety and security of citizens. Further investigations into the cases have been launched, while efforts are also underway to trace the suspects who escaped during the police encounter.

The Sukkur Police reiterated their commitment to taking action against individuals involved in illegal activities and maintaining peace and security throughout the district.
