Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Sunday reached Turkiye’s Istanbul to will undertake official engagements after concluding an official visit to the United Kingdom, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.
The Foreign Office (FO) said DPM Dar was received by Turkish Deputy Chief of Staff for Administration Brig. General Senol Varol, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Turkiye Dr Yousaf Junaid, Ambassador Cihad Erginay of the Turkish foreign ministry, and other senior officials of the Turkish government.
Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has extended heartfelt felicitations to the leadership, government and brotherly people of Türkiye on the 104th anniversary of Türkiye’s Victory Day. In a post on X, the Deputy Prime Minister said Pakistan joins its Turkish brothers and sisters in celebrating this historic victory and pays tribute to Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and all the heroes and martyrs of Türkiye’s War of Independence.
He said Pakistan and Türkiye are bound by an exceptional bond of brotherhood, rooted in mutual trust and deep affection between the two peoples. The Deputy Prime Minister said that bilateral relations between both countries have continued to evolve into a comprehensive and multifaceted partnership.
He expressed hope that the enduring bonds of friendship and brotherhood between Pakistan and Türkiye will continue to grow from strength to strength.
President, PM felicitate Turkish leadership, people on Victory Day
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif have extended warm greetings to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the brotherly people of Turkiye on the occasion of Victory Day today of Turkiye.
In his message on X, the President said Pakistan and Turkiye enjoy a unique and enduring relationship, rooted in deep bonds of history, faith and mutual support. He said the Great Victory of 30th August 1922 remains an important chapter in Turkiye’s history. The President expressed confidence that the close and fraternal ties between the two countries would continue to grow.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in a post on X, said Pakistan joins its Turkish brothers and sisters in honouring the proud legacy of courage and national resolve. The Prime Minister said the bonds between Pakistan and Turkiye are bonds of the heart, forged through centuries of shared faith, history and struggle.
He said the two countries have further reaffirmed their enduring strategic brotherhood through the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement, alongside the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, reflecting their shared commitment to security and collective deterrence. The Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further deepening its strategic partnership with Turkiye across all domains for the shared prosperity and security of the two countries. He expressed hope that the abiding friendship and brotherhood between Pakistan and Turkiye will continue to flourish for generations to come.
