PESHAWAR: The Lakki Marwat Peace Committee has assured the Regional Police Officer (RPO) Bannu in writing that it will not operate as a parallel police force or illegal armed group.

The committee said all operations, including raids and arrests, would require prior approval from the District Police Officer (DPO) Lakki Marwat.

It also pledged to operate under police command and follow the law, while staying away from protests, sit-ins, road blockades and political activities.

The committee assured that no person would be held in unlawful custody. Arrested suspects would be formally handed over to the CTD or another authorized agency.

Members of the committee and unauthorized individuals would not be allowed to wear police or government uniforms or exercise official powers.

The committee further agreed that government weapons, vehicles and communication equipment would not be used for personal, tribal or political purposes, while proper records of government weapons would be maintained.
