KHAIRPUR: PhD scholar Qalandar Bakhsh Bhatti of Shah Abdul Latif University’s Department of Zoology successfully defended his research at his Final Open Defense.

His study focused on the population, habitat, food, feeding and breeding behaviour of Black and Grey Francolins in Nara Taluka, Khairpur.

The research identified illegal hunting, pesticide use, habitat destruction and predators as major threats, recommending stronger conservation and monitoring measures.

The defense was attended by university faculty, researchers and students.
