Balochistan: Six people were burned to death after a car collided with a gas bowser on the Makran Coastal Highway near Sarpat, according to police.

The accident occurred in the B2 Sarpat area of Zone One, Ormara. Police said the six people travelling in the car died at the scene after the collision caused a fire.

The victims included two men, two women and two children, according to authorities. All six occupants of the car were reportedly trapped in the vehicle and suffered fatal burn injuries.

Coastal Highway Police Superintendent Aslam Bangulzai said the car was travelling towards Turbat while the gas bowser was heading towards Karachi when the two vehicles collided. The impact resulted in a major accident, killing everyone travelling in the car.

Police identified the car’s driver as Aslam. The identities of the other victims were not immediately disclosed in the available information.

Following the accident, Coastal Highway Police teams reached the scene after receiving information about the crash. Officials secured the accident site and took steps to manage the situation.

Police also worked to maintain the flow of traffic on the highway following the collision. The authorities are expected to investigate the circumstances that led to the crash and determine how the two vehicles collided.

The Makran Coastal Highway is an important route connecting coastal areas of Balochistan and carries passenger and commercial traffic. Accidents involving heavy vehicles such as gas bowsers can be particularly dangerous because of the potential for fire and serious damage following a collision.

In this incident, the severity of the crash resulted in the deaths of all six people travelling in the car. The presence of a gas bowser also created an additional hazard at the accident site, requiring authorities to secure the area.

The police response focused on reaching the scene, securing the location and keeping traffic moving. Further details about the cause of the collision, the condition of the bowser driver and whether any other people were injured were not immediately available.

Authorities are expected to examine the vehicles and circumstances surrounding the crash as part of the investigation. The findings could help establish whether speed, road conditions, visibility, vehicle failure or another factor contributed to the collision.

The tragic incident has once again highlighted the risks faced by motorists travelling on major highways, particularly on routes used by both passenger vehicles and heavy commercial transport.

The six victims died at the scene, including two women and two children. The police investigation into the fatal collision is continuing.
