KARACHI — August 20, 2026: The bodies of two Pakistani nationals killed in a Houthi attack, along with several injured Pakistanis, have arrived in Karachi from Jeddah.

According to airport sources, the bodies of Umair Afzal and Muhammad Akram were brought to Karachi Airport on a Saudi Airlines flight. Umair Afzal was reportedly a resident of Landhi, while Muhammad Akram belonged to the Manzil Pump area of Karachi.

Three Pakistanis injured in the attack — Abid Ali, Muhammad Rizwan, and Muhammad Waheed — were also brought back to Karachi on Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight PK-762.

Officials from the Saudi Embassy and representatives of the Government of Pakistan were present at Karachi Airport to receive the bodies and injured passengers. According to sources, some other injured Pakistanis were transported to Islamabad Airport for further arrangements and medical care.

The repatriation comes after an attack on the cargo vessel Tihama on August 11, in which Pakistani nationals were among those affected. The incident resulted in deaths and injuries, prompting arrangements for the return of the victims to Pakistan.

The arrival of the bodies and injured citizens at Karachi Airport marks the beginning of the process of handing over the deceased to their families and providing further assistance and treatment to those who survived the attack.

Government and diplomatic officials have been coordinating arrangements for the repatriation of the victims and injured Pakistanis following the incident.
