PESHAWAR — August 20, 2026: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has uncovered the alleged storage of government-owned equipment left over from various projects of the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) at a private residence in Nowshera.
According to the FIA, a raid was conducted at a house in Nowshera, during which PESCO equipment worth millions of rupees was recovered. The recovered material reportedly included a 200 KVA transformer along with high-voltage and low-voltage cables.
The FIA said that valuable electrical equipment used in PESCO grid stations was also recovered during the raid. Among the seized items were cross-arms and other equipment associated with electricity distribution and grid-station operations.
The recovery has raised questions regarding the alleged unauthorized storage and handling of government property belonging to PESCO. The FIA is investigating how the equipment from various PESCO projects allegedly ended up at the private residence and who was responsible for its removal and storage.
Officials are expected to examine records related to PESCO projects, equipment inventories, and the movement of the recovered material as part of the investigation.
Further details regarding those involved, the exact value of the recovered equipment, and possible legal action are expected as the investigation progresses.
