Karachi: Nearly 90 Percent of Winter Season Has Passed, Significant Decline in Cold Weather

Karachi: Nearly 90 percent of the winter season has passed in Karachi, resulting in a noticeable decline in cold weather across the city. Residents are experiencing milder conditions as temperatures gradually rise, signaling the seasonal transition toward spring.

According to meteorological analysts, the weather in Karachi is expected to remain pleasant over the next few days, with a gradual increase in temperatures. The easing of winter conditions has brought relief to citizens who had been experiencing cooler nights and mornings over the past several weeks.

Experts note that the intensity and duration of cold weather typically diminish as winter approaches its final phase. With most of the season now behind, Karachi is witnessing a steady shift toward warmer daytime temperatures while maintaining relatively cool nights.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has also shared its forecast for the next 24 hours, stating that the weather in Karachi is likely to remain dry, with cool conditions during nighttime. According to the department, no rainfall is expected in the near term, and overall weather conditions will remain stable.

As per PMD projections, the minimum temperature in the city is expected to range between 12 and 14 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature may remain between 27 and 29 degrees Celsius. These readings indicate a moderate rise in daytime temperatures compared to earlier weeks, when colder air currents had pushed nighttime temperatures lower.

Meteorological officials reported that during the previous night, the lowest temperature recorded was 14 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, the humidity level in the air was measured at 58 percent, contributing to relatively comfortable weather conditions. Winds are currently blowing from the north at a speed of approximately 11 kilometers per hour, which is helping to maintain a mild and refreshing atmosphere.

Weather experts believe that such conditions are typical for this time of year, as Karachi gradually transitions out of winter. The combination of moderate humidity, gentle winds, and rising daytime temperatures is expected to create a generally pleasant climate for residents.

Citizens across the city have welcomed the change, as the reduced chill has made outdoor activities more comfortable, especially during the morning and evening hours. Many residents report that while nights remain slightly cool, the sharp cold previously felt earlier in the season has significantly eased.

Health experts also suggest that stable and moderate weather conditions may reduce the spread of seasonal illnesses commonly associated with extreme cold. However, they advise citizens to continue taking precautions during cooler nights, particularly children and the elderly, who remain more vulnerable to temperature fluctuations.

Urban planners and environmental observers note that Karachi’s winter season is relatively short compared to other regions of the country. The city’s coastal location plays a key role in moderating extreme temperatures, resulting in shorter cold spells and quicker seasonal transitions.

Meteorologists further explain that the gradual rise in temperatures is expected to continue in the coming days. While no heatwave-like conditions are anticipated at this stage, residents may begin to notice warmer afternoons, particularly under clear skies.

The absence of rain and stable wind patterns suggest that weather conditions will remain predictable in the short term. This stability is beneficial for daily life, transportation, and commercial activities across the city.

Overall, the passing of nearly 90 percent of the winter season marks a clear shift in Karachi’s climate pattern. With pleasant weather expected to persist and temperatures rising slowly, residents can anticipate a smooth transition into the next seasonal phase.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department continues to monitor weather conditions closely and has advised citizens to stay updated with official forecasts. Further updates will be issued should there be any significant changes in temperature, wind patterns, or humidity levels.
