Israeli military violations of the ceasefire in Gaza continue, as 31 Palestinians, including 6 children, were killed in airstrikes carried out today. Several others were reportedly injured in the attacks.
According to Arab media, Israeli forces launched airstrikes on Gaza City and Khan Younis, resulting in heavy casualties among civilians. Rescue teams and medical sources confirmed that women and children were among those killed, while many injured were taken to nearby hospitals.
The Israeli military claimed that its fighter jets targeted senior leaders of Hamas and Islamic Jihad, along with alleged weapons storage facilities. However, no evidence has been presented to support these claims.
Meanwhile, Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem strongly condemned the targeting of civilians. He stated that Israel’s baseless and hollow claims are an insult to the mediators of the peace agreement, the guarantors of Israel, and all parties involved in the Peace Council.
It is worth noting that the Peace Council consists of global leaders and was selected by former US President Donald Trump to oversee the implementation of his 20-point plan aimed at ending the war in Gaza.
According to Qatar-based broadcaster Al Jazeera, since the ceasefire agreement reached in October, Israel has violated the truce more than 1,300 times. These violations have resulted in the martyrdom of at least 509 Palestinians and injuries to 1,405 others.
The report further states that since the ceasefire came into effect, Israeli forces have opened fire on Palestinian civilians on 430 occasions, conducted 66 raids beyond the yellow line into residential areas, and demolished Palestinian properties around 200 times. In the past month alone, at least 50 Palestinians have been arrested.
The continued violations have raised serious concerns among international observers and humanitarian organizations, who warn that the fragile ceasefire is on the brink of collapse amid ongoing civilian casualties and destruction.
