Sukkur :
The family members and local residents of minor Hassan Ali, son of Sajid Ali Mirani, who was killed after being run over by a Mazda vehicle on Stadium Road in Sukkur last night, staged a protest and sit-in outside the Sukkur Press Club.

The protest was led by the deceased child’s mother, Rani, father Sajid Ali and Altaf Hussain Mallah. A large number of men and women from the area participated in the demonstration.

The protesters placed the child’s body outside the Press Club and strongly protested against the incident, demanding the immediate arrest of the Mazda driver allegedly responsible for the child’s death and registration of a case against him.

The sit-in resulted in the closure of all routes leading to and from the city around Sukkur Press Club Chowk, severely disrupting traffic flow and causing considerable difficulties for commuters.

The protesters said that an innocent child was allegedly crushed to death by a Mazda vehicle in front of people, while the driver managed to flee the scene after the tragic incident. They alleged that police had so far failed to take effective action to arrest the suspect, describing the situation as an injustice to the bereaved family.

The family members demanded that the driver responsible for Hassan Ali’s death be arrested immediately, a case be registered against him and legal proceedings initiated. They also called for justice for the affected family.

During the protest, the SHO of C-Section Police Station Sukkur reached the site and held talks with the protesters, attempting to persuade them to reopen the road for traffic. However, the protesters refused to end the road blockade and made it clear that they would continue their protest until the alleged suspect was arrested and a case was registered against him.

The protesters urged senior police officials to conduct a transparent investigation into the incident and bring the responsible driver to justice so that such tragic incidents could be prevented in the future.
