Naushahro Feroze (D.R.): A grand and enthusiastic ceremony titled “14 August – Independence Day” was organized at the Youth Development Centre (YDC), Naushahro Feroze, by the Directorate of Youth Affairs Sindh under the Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Government of Sindh.
Assistant Commissioner Naushahro Feroze Muhammad Usman attended the ceremony as the chief guest. The event formally commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by a Naat in praise of the Holy Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, while the national anthem was played with due respect.
In his welcome and opening address, Assistant Director Youth Affairs Sindh Rizwan Ali Mallah highlighted the historical significance of Pakistan’s independence and paid rich tribute to the sacrifices of the country’s founders and elders.
Reiterating the department’s commitment to youth development, Rizwan Ali Mallah emphasized that young people are the backbone of Pakistan’s bright future. He said the Sindh government is striving to empower youth by providing opportunities to develop their skills, leadership abilities, and participation in positive and constructive activities.
A large number of young people from across the district participated in the event with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit.
As part of the vibrant cultural segment, students from the University of Sindh, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University (SBBU), IBA Community College, Government Girls Higher Secondary School Naushahro Feroze, Naushahro Feroze Institute of Nursing (NION), and Syed A.G. Institute of Paramedical and Allied Health Sciences presented impressive performances.
The students performed national songs, delivered speeches, recited poetry, and presented tableaux in English and Urdu. Their performances were warmly appreciated and applauded by the audience.
The participating youth thanked the Youth Affairs Department for providing them with an excellent platform to showcase their talents and appreciated its efforts in organizing such a meaningful event.
Speaking on the occasion, chief guest Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Usman praised the Directorate of Youth Affairs Sindh for organizing the impressive Independence Day ceremony. He said that the elders of Pakistan achieved the country through their hard work and countless sacrifices, enabling the present generation to breathe freely in an independent environment.
He further stated that people belonging to different religions enjoy freedom and that there are no restrictions on the followers of any religion in the country. Appreciating the patriotism and talent demonstrated by the youth, he expressed confidence that Pakistan’s future is in safe and capable hands.
A special cake-cutting ceremony was also held to mark Independence Day.
In addition, promoting environmental protection and tree plantation, chief guest Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Usman, along with other distinguished guests, planted saplings in the green garden of the Youth Development Centre.
At the conclusion of the event, Assistant Director Rizwan Ali Mallah distributed certificates of appreciation among students and volunteers who demonstrated outstanding performance and contribution to the ceremony.
