SUKKUR: A ceremony to distribute certificates among participants of a joint training programme organized by Civil Defence Sukkur and Sukkur Fire Brigade Station was held at the Municipal Corporation Sukkur.
The training programme was organized under the vision of Director Civil Defence Sindh Riyaz Hussain Laghari and Deputy Commissioner and Controller Civil Defence Sukkur Nadir Shehzad Khan, with the theme “Safe Sukkur, Strong Pakistan.”
The ceremony was attended by Municipal Commissioner Sukkur Khalid Hussain Jatoi, Deputy Chief Warden Civil Defence Sukkur Dr. Saeed Awan, Fire Officer Waqar Nawab, and other officials.
During the ceremony, certificates were distributed among Civil Defence wardens and Fire Brigade personnel who successfully completed the joint training programme.
Addressing the gathering, Municipal Commissioner Sukkur Khalid Hussain Jatoi emphasized that strict implementation of fire safety standard operating procedures (SOPs) was essential for protecting lives and property.
He appreciated the joint training initiative undertaken by Civil Defence and the Fire Brigade, describing it as a commendable and valuable effort aimed at improving emergency preparedness and response capabilities.
Khalid Hussain Jatoi said that the Municipal Corporation and Civil Defence would continue working together to make Sukkur a safer city and strengthen its ability to respond effectively to emergencies.
He also expressed his appreciation for the performance of Civil Defence Sukkur under the active leadership of Deputy Chief Warden Dr. Saeed Awan, saying that the organization was providing exemplary services across Sindh.
The joint training programme focused on improving the practical skills and preparedness of personnel who may be required to respond to fires, accidents and other emergency situations.
Such training is particularly important for ensuring coordinated action among different emergency-response departments during critical situations.
Several officers and officials from Civil Defence and the Fire Brigade also attended the ceremony. Among those present were Muhammad Ahmed Sheikh, Group Warden; Sheikh Adnan, Post Warden; and In-charge Officers Muhammad Asif Sheikh, Shahab Hussain and Riyaz Ahmed Siddiqui, along with other officials and personnel.
The participants were recognized for completing the training and were awarded certificates in appreciation of their efforts and commitment to emergency preparedness.
Officials said that continued training and coordination between Civil Defence and the Fire Brigade would help improve the city’s overall emergency response system.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, participants and officials reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining cooperation and continuing joint training activities to improve preparedness for emergencies and protect the residents of Sukkur.
The initiative was seen as an important step toward strengthening fire safety awareness, emergency response capacity and interdepartmental coordination in the city under the vision of “Safe Sukkur, Strong Pakistan.”
