QUETTA: Earthquake tremors were felt in the Zhob and Chaman districts of Balochistan, causing panic among residents in the affected areas.
According to the seismological centre, the earthquake had a magnitude of 4.8 on the Richter scale, while its depth was recorded at 15 kilometres.
The earthquake’s epicentre was located approximately 122 kilometres northeast of Zhob, according to the earthquake monitoring authorities.
The tremors were felt in several areas, prompting residents to leave their homes as a precautionary measure. Many people were seen coming out of their houses while reciting the Kalma Tayyaba amid fear and uncertainty.
The relatively shallow depth of the earthquake contributed to the tremors being felt by residents in the affected districts.
No casualties or property damage have been reported so far as a result of the earthquake, according to the available information.
Emergency authorities and relevant departments are continuing to monitor the situation. Officials typically assess affected areas following an earthquake to determine whether buildings, roads or other infrastructure have sustained damage.
