IG Sindh Javed Alam Odho visited the DIG Office Sukkur, where DIG Sukkur and other senior police officers welcomed him upon arrival.
On the occasion, a smartly turned-out police contingent presented a guard of honour to the Inspector General of Sindh.
A high-level review meeting was held under the chairmanship of IG Sindh Javed Alam Odho to discuss Operation “Nijat-e-Mehram,” crime control, and other policing matters.
During the meeting, a detailed review was conducted of police operations carried out so far under Operation Nijat-e-Mehram, the targets achieved and the overall performance of the police force.
DIG Sukkur/Larkana Nasir Aftab briefed the IG Sindh on police measures and progress against criminal elements operating in the riverine (Katcha) areas during Operation Nijat-e-Mehram.
The IG Sindh was briefed about police actions against dacoits, including arrests, killings, recovery of weapons and other achievements under the operation.
IG Sindh Javed Alam Odho reviewed in detail the targets set for Operation Nijat-e-Mehram and the progress achieved so far.
The meeting also reviewed the law-and-order situation, crime trends and overall police performance in the Sukkur and Larkana ranges.
The IG Sindh directed police officers to make operations against criminal elements more effective and result-oriented.
He directed that police operations in the Katcha areas should be pursued through a coordinated strategy, modern technology and the effective utilization of available resources.
“Police operations should be accelerated further to protect the lives and property of the people and ensure lasting peace,” the IG Sindh said.
He further directed that a zero-tolerance policy should continue against crime, including the arrest of proclaimed and absconding offenders, drug-related offences and other criminal activities.
IG Sindh Javed Alam Odho instructed police officers to ensure an effective presence in the field and focus not only on preventing crime but also on the prompt resolution of public complaints.
The meeting was attended by the DIG Sukkur and Larkana ranges, district SSPs of Sukkur and Larkana, SSP Special Branch, SSP CTD, SSP RRF, SP Crime Management Unit, SP Investigation and other senior police officers.
