BHIRIA CITY — Report by Muhammad Saban Junejo: Villagers from Manik Khaskheli village near Bhiria City staged a protest outside their village against what they described as an alleged attempt to occupy their land, the registration of a false FIR, threats to their lives and what they called baseless allegations against the media.
The protest was led by Faqeer Mir Hassan Khaskheli, Sher Khan Khaskheli and other villagers. The protesters alleged that influential individuals, including Ali Gul Khaskheli, Arbab Khaskheli and others, were attempting to occupy their agricultural land and plots.
Allegations of Land Encroachment
Speaking during the demonstration, the protesters claimed that influential groups were allegedly trying to take possession of their property.
They alleged that a false FIR had subsequently been registered against them in an attempt to pressure and intimidate them and divert attention from the actual land dispute.
The villagers also alleged that baseless accusations were being made against members of the media to shift public attention away from the dispute.
Faqeer Mir Hassan Khaskheli and other protesters claimed that Ali Gul Khaskheli and his son, Arbab Khaskheli, were allegedly involved in criminal activities.
They further alleged that individuals involved in criminal activities visited their premises at night, which, they claimed, had created serious concerns for their safety.
The allegations have not been independently verified, and the individuals named by the protesters have not, according to the information provided, publicly responded to the accusations.
Claim of Threat to Their Lives
The protesters said they were involved in the business of trading banana plantations and depended on their agricultural activities for their livelihood.
They alleged that the influential individuals were attempting to occupy their agricultural land and plots and that they had been facing pressure because of the dispute.
The villagers claimed that previous cases against the individuals they named were already pending before the courts.
They further stated that a non-cognizable report (NC) had also been registered against the alleged opponents at Bhiria Police Station.
Despite this, the protesters alleged that police had acted against them and registered what they described as a fabricated case.
Demand for Transparent Investigation
The villagers demanded that the relevant authorities conduct a transparent and impartial investigation into the land dispute.
They called for any alleged encroachment on their property to be removed and demanded that their legal ownership and possession rights be protected.
The protesters also called for the withdrawal of what they described as a false FIR and urged the authorities to provide them with justice according to the law.
They further demanded an investigation into the allegations made against the media, saying that those responsible for making what they described as baseless accusations should also be held accountable if the claims are found to be false.
Appeal for Protection
The protesters appealed to senior police and administrative authorities to take immediate notice of their complaints and ensure their safety.
They said the alleged threats had created fear among their families and demanded that law-enforcement authorities take appropriate measures to protect them.
The villagers maintained that they wanted the dispute to be resolved through a fair legal process and urged the authorities to examine the available evidence before taking action against either side.
They warned that if their complaints were not addressed and the alleged land encroachment was not investigated, they would be compelled to continue their protests through peaceful and legal means.
The protesters reiterated their demand for justice, protection and a neutral investigation into the land dispute, the FIR and the allegations concerning the media.
