Residents have strongly protested what they describe as the negligence of the district administration and elected representatives, claiming they have been abandoned despite suffering severe losses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to local residents, the breach inundated the village within hours, destroying several mud houses belonging to daily wage workers and leaving hundreds of acres under stagnant water. The flooding has severely disrupted normal life, forcing many families to live in extremely difficult conditions while awaiting government assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking to journalists, affected villagers <strong>Shafi Muhammad Shoro, Maqbool Ahmed Shoro, Allah Dino Shoro,<\/strong> and <strong>Khair Muhammad Shoro<\/strong> said their homes, belongings, and agricultural assets had been badly damaged. They expressed disappointment that neither the district administration, elected representatives, nor any concerned department had visited the area or provided relief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The villagers said they had no option but to repair the breach themselves using limited local resources. \u201cWe managed to close the breach on our own, but the administration neither provided machinery nor extended any practical assistance,\u201d they said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Residents further revealed that on the day the breach occurred, they met <strong>Assistant Commissioner Badin Rajesh Kumar<\/strong> in Serani and urgently requested machinery to prevent flooding in their village. However, they alleged that they were only given verbal assurances and sent back without any immediate action. Their fears soon became reality as floodwater engulfed the village shortly afterward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The affected families also criticized what they described as discriminatory treatment by the authorities. They claimed that when a breach occurred near Serani town, the entire district administration responded swiftly and mobilized all available resources. In contrast, they said, poor rural communities were completely ignored despite facing equally serious consequences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Villagers have appealed to the Government of Sindh, the Badin district administration, elected representatives, and relevant irrigation authorities to immediately deploy machinery to drain the stagnant floodwater, provide financial compensation for damaged homes and property, arrange temporary shelter, and distribute food and other essential relief items.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They warned that stagnant water has created ideal breeding conditions for mosquitoes, significantly increasing the risk of malaria, dengue, and other waterborne diseases.
