{"id":9564,"date":"2026-08-05T13:10:45","date_gmt":"2026-08-05T13:10:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/paksouch.com\/?p=9564"},"modified":"2026-08-05T13:10:46","modified_gmt":"2026-08-05T13:10:46","slug":"discovery-of-high-quality-lithium-in-khairpur-opens-way-for-local-industry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/paksouch.com\/?p=9564","title":{"rendered":"Discovery of High-Quality Lithium in Khairpur Opens Way for Local Industry"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Islamabad:<\/strong> The discovery of high-quality lithium in Khairpur, Sindh, has created opportunities for the establishment of a local lithium industry in Pakistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a significant development toward setting up the country\u2019s first domestic lithium industry, the <strong>Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL)<\/strong> has signed an agreement with the <strong>Pakistan Institute of Nuclear Science and Technology (PINSTECH)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The agreement aims to develop technology for the commercial extraction of lithium from geothermal brine water following the discovery of high-quality lithium from a well located in Khairpur district, Sindh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Officials said the initiative is expected to support Pakistan\u2019s efforts to explore and utilize its mineral resources and could contribute to the development of a local lithium supply chain.
