{"id":9540,"date":"2026-08-05T12:49:42","date_gmt":"2026-08-05T12:49:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/paksouch.com\/?p=9540"},"modified":"2026-08-05T12:49:42","modified_gmt":"2026-08-05T12:49:42","slug":"lahore-high-court-dismisses-pti-petition-seeking-permission-for-minar-e-pakistan-rally","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/paksouch.com\/?p=9540","title":{"rendered":"Lahore High Court Dismisses PTI Petition Seeking Permission for Minar-e-Pakistan Rally"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Lahore:<\/strong> The Lahore High Court has dismissed a petition filed by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) seeking permission to hold a public rally at Minar-e-Pakistan on August 5, declaring the plea infructuous after the district administration had already decided the matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The petition, filed by PTI leader Mian Usman Akram, came up for hearing before Justice Mirza Waqas Rauf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the proceedings, the government\u2019s counsel informed the court that the district administration had already rejected PTI\u2019s application to hold the rally at Minar-e-Pakistan. In response, PTI\u2019s lawyer requested that the party be provided with an alternative venue for the public gathering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The court directed the government lawyer to immediately seek instructions from the Deputy Commissioner (DC) and inform the court whether the administration was willing to permit the rally at any location other than Minar-e-Pakistan. Justice Rauf asked the counsel to ascertain whether an alternative venue could be offered to the party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After hearing the arguments, the court ruled that the petition had become unnecessary because the competent authority had already made its decision regarding the application.
