At its peak in 2025, sugar reached Rs. 229 per kg.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Wheat Flour (Atta):<\/strong> Up <strong>22.56%<\/strong> \u2013 the price of a 20-kg bag rose from Rs. 1,794.93 to Rs. 2,199.85.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Broiler Chicken:<\/strong> Up slightly from Rs. 409.22 per kg to Rs. 424.89 per kg.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Beef:<\/strong> Increased <strong>13.01%<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Jaggery (Gur):<\/strong> Increased <strong>12.46%<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Bananas:<\/strong> Increased <strong>11.24%<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Powdered Red Chili:<\/strong> Increased <strong>10.31%<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Eggs:<\/strong> Increased <strong>9.71%<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Milk Powder:<\/strong> Increased <strong>9.51%<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Gas Charges:<\/strong> Increased sharply <strong>29.85%<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Firewood:<\/strong> Increased <strong>11.02%<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Mutton, Fresh Milk, Yogurt, and Ghee<\/strong> also saw price rises in 2025.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Items That Became Cheaper:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Tomatoes:<\/strong> Down <strong>74.92%<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Potatoes:<\/strong> Down <strong>49.79%<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Garlic:<\/strong> Down <strong>38.17%<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Chana Dal (Bengal Gram):<\/strong> Down <strong>29.66%<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Onions:<\/strong> Down <strong>29.23%<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Tea Leaves:<\/strong> Down <strong>17.79%<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Moong Dal:<\/strong> Down <strong>13.14%<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Masoor Dal:<\/strong> Down <strong>6.62%<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Electricity Charges:<\/strong> Reduced by <strong>6.87%<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The PBS report shows a mixed trend, with basic staples like sugar, flour, and chicken becoming more expensive, while seasonal vegetables, pulses, and tea have become relatively cheaper.
