{"id":9113,"date":"2026-08-03T08:59:09","date_gmt":"2026-08-03T08:59:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/paksouch.com\/?p=9113"},"modified":"2026-08-03T08:59:09","modified_gmt":"2026-08-03T08:59:09","slug":"pml-n-wins-14-seats-ppp-secures-5-in-second-phase-of-ajk-legislative-assembly-elections","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/paksouch.com\/?p=9113","title":{"rendered":"PML-N Wins 14 Seats, PPP Secures 5 in Second Phase of AJK Legislative Assembly Elections"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>MUZAFFARABAD:<\/strong> Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) emerged as the dominant party in the <strong>second phase of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly elections<\/strong>, winning <strong>14 of the 19 seats<\/strong> for which unofficial and provisional results have been announced, while the <strong>Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP)<\/strong> secured <strong>five seats<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Voting was held on Sunday for <strong>20 constituencies<\/strong>, including <strong>eight seats in the Muzaffarabad Division<\/strong> and <strong>12 seats reserved for refugees<\/strong> living in Pakistan. Polling continued until the evening in most constituencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, polling in <strong>LA-27<\/strong> was <strong>postponed<\/strong> after election staff and polling material could not reach all <strong>196 polling stations<\/strong> because of <strong>adverse weather conditions and landslides<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Overall Results<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to unofficial and provisional results released so far:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>PML-N:<\/strong> 14 seats<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>PPP:<\/strong> 5 seats<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>LA-27:<\/strong> Polling postponed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Constituency-Wise Results<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>LA-25 (Neelum Valley-I):<\/strong><br>PML-N candidate <strong>Shah Ghulam Qadir<\/strong> won with <strong>18,925 votes<\/strong>, defeating PPP&#8217;s <strong>Mian Abdul Waheed<\/strong>, who received <strong>13,596 votes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>LA-26 (Neelum Valley-II):<\/strong><br>PPP&#8217;s <strong>Mian Abdul Waheed<\/strong> secured victory with <strong>17,466 votes<\/strong>, while PML-N&#8217;s <strong>Shah Ghulam Qadir<\/strong> finished second with <strong>15,494 votes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>LA-29 (Muzaffarabad-III):<\/strong><br>PPP candidate <strong>Sardar Mukhtar Khan<\/strong> won after polling <strong>19,792 votes<\/strong>, ahead of PML-N&#8217;s <strong>Barrister Iftikhar Ali Gillani<\/strong>, who received <strong>16,413 votes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>LA-30 (Muzaffarabad-IV):<\/strong><br>PML-N&#8217;s <strong>Mustafa Bashir Abbasi<\/strong> won with <strong>17,749 votes<\/strong>, defeating PPP&#8217;s <strong>Mubashir Munir Awan<\/strong>, who secured <strong>11,947 votes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>LA-31 (Muzaffarabad-V):<\/strong><br>PML-N candidate <strong>Saqib Majeed Raja<\/strong> was declared successful with <strong>32,511 votes<\/strong>, while PPP&#8217;s <strong>Chaudhry Latif Akbar<\/strong> received <strong>23,957 votes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>LA-32 (Muzaffarabad-VI):<\/strong><br>Former AJK Prime Minister <strong>Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider<\/strong> of PML-N won with <strong>21,156 votes<\/strong>, while PPP candidate <strong>Sahibzada Muhammad Ashfaq Zafar<\/strong> secured <strong>19,010 votes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>LA-33 (Muzaffarabad-VII):<\/strong><br>PPP&#8217;s <strong>Diwan Ali Khan Qamar Chughtai<\/strong> won with <strong>25,469 votes<\/strong>, defeating PML-N&#8217;s <strong>Mian Muhammad Rashid<\/strong>, who obtained <strong>21,175 votes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Refugee Constituencies<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">PML-N also recorded victories in several refugee constituencies:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>LA-34 (Jammu-I):<\/strong> Nasir Hussain Dar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>LA-35 (Jammu-II):<\/strong> Chaudhry Muhammad Ismail<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>LA-36 (Jammu-III):<\/strong> Muhammad Ahsan Raza<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>LA-37 (Jammu-IV):<\/strong> Maryam Javed<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>LA-38 (Jammu-V):<\/strong> Zeeshan Ali<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>LA-39 (Jammu-VI):<\/strong> Raja Muhammad Siddique<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>LA-41 (Kashmir Valley-II):<\/strong> Muhammad Amir Shah<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>LA-42 (Kashmir Valley-III):<\/strong> Syed Shaukat Ali Shah<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>LA-43 (Kashmir Valley-IV):<\/strong> Muhammad Yaseen Lone<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>LA-44 (Kashmir Valley-V):<\/strong> Muhammad Ahmed Raza Qadri<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">PPP secured victories in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>LA-40 (Kashmir Valley-I):<\/strong> Amir Abdul Ghaffar<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>LA-45 (Kashmir Valley-VI):<\/strong> Abdul Majid Khan<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Polling Delayed in LA-27<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Election authorities postponed polling in <strong>LA-27<\/strong> after severe weather and landslides prevented election officials and polling materials from reaching polling stations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Election Commission is expected to announce a new polling date for the constituency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The results announced so far are <strong>unofficial and provisional<\/strong> and will become final after official notification by the <strong>Azad Jammu and Kashmir Election
