Sukkur (Bureau Report): A resident of Nawan Pind Khoso Mohalla, Sukkur, Dua daughter of Abdul Rahim Gopang, along with her mother, staged a protest outside the Sukkur Press Club, alleging mistreatment, abuse, and violence by her husband Farhan Soomro and in-laws. She demanded justice, protection, and the return of her household belongings. During the protest, Dua stated that she was married to Farhan Soomro one and a half years ago and they have a son. She said that her husband\u2019s behavior remained good during the initial months of the marriage, but later his attitude, as well as that of his family members, changed. Dua alleged that her brother-in-law Arman Ali, sister-in-law Kainat, father-in-law Abdul Rehman, and mother-in-law Anila allegedly subjected her to cruelty and mistreatment. She further alleged that her husband Farhan Soomro was addicted to drugs and tried to force her into drug use as well. According to her, when she refused, she was allegedly pressured to consume drugs such as hashish and ice (crystal methamphetamine). She further alleged that her husband had kept her separately in a rented place in the neighborhood, where she was allegedly subjected to physical abuse. Dua said that when the alleged violence reached its limit, she was forced to call her brother Naeem for help. She claimed that her husband also allegedly assaulted her brother and had him beaten by other people. The protesting woman further alleged that her brother-in-law Arman Ali repeatedly came to her parents\u2019 neighborhood carrying weapons and threatened her and her family. She also accused her father-in-law Abdul Rehman of threatening her, allegedly claiming that he had connections with people close to the Mayor of Sukkur and that no one could harm him. Dua stated that her household belongings, including furniture, solar panels, a battery, gold ring, air cooler, fans, gas cylinder, clothes, and other items, are still at her husband\u2019s house and are not being returned.
