{"id":8663,"date":"2026-07-31T10:21:29","date_gmt":"2026-07-31T10:21:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/paksouch.com\/?p=8663"},"modified":"2026-07-31T10:21:30","modified_gmt":"2026-07-31T10:21:30","slug":"four-bodies-located-after-10-climbers-go-missing-on-broad-peak","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/paksouch.com\/?p=8663","title":{"rendered":"Four bodies located after 10 climbers go missing on Broad Peak"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Four bodies found had not yet been recovered: sources.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Two army rescue helicopters dispatched to area: ACP.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Three sherpa guides among missing climbers.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The bodies of four climbers were located on Friday after at least 10 mountaineers, including renowned Nepali mountaineer Nims Dai, went missing following an avalanche on Broad Peak in Pakistan&#8217;s Karakoram mountain range a day earlier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Search and rescue operations were underway for the remaining six missing mountaineers, sources at the Broad Peak base camp said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among those missing is Nepali mountaineer Nirmal Purja, 43, who holds the record for the fastest ascent of the world&#8217;s 14 highest mountains, the Alpine Club of Pakistan (ACP) said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The expedition included five Nepali climbers led by Dai, Pakistani climber Sohail Sakhi, Omani mountaineer Nadhira, American climber Mallory Geis, Chinese climber Mr Wang and another foreign climber.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The climbers are believed to have been swept away by an avalanche on the 8,051-metre (26,414-foot) peak, the world&#8217;s 12th-highest mountain, around midday on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Search and rescue operations were continuing on Friday, Sajid Hussain, deputy director of the tourism department in Gilgit-Baltistan, told&nbsp;<em>Reuters<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The search was focusing on a &#8220;remote and difficult area&#8221;, said Hussain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The four bodies found had not yet been recovered, according to Pakistani security sources, who did not give details of where they were found.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Two Pakistan Army Aviation rescue helicopters have been dispatched, said the ACP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;We remain hopeful for the safe recovery of the missing climbers,&#8221; said the club. &#8220;The entire team has reportedly been out of communication since the avalanche.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Trekking company Seven Summit Treks (SST) had three sherpa guides among the missing climbers, Chhang Dawa Sherpa, a board director, told&nbsp;<em>Reuters<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chhang said team members&#8217;
