Karachi, Pakistan:<\/strong> The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD)<\/strong> has forecast rain in Karachi from the evening of August 1 through August 2<\/strong>, as a weather system continues to influence parts of the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the PMD, a strong low-pressure system<\/strong> that developed over the Bay of Bengal<\/strong> has maintained its intensity and is currently positioned over Madhya Pradesh, India<\/strong>, in the form of a deep depression<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The department said the system is expected to begin weakening within the next 12 hours<\/strong>. It is likely to downgrade to a depression<\/strong>, and within 24 to 36 hours<\/strong>, it is expected to weaken further into a low-pressure area<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meteorologists explained that moist winds from both the Arabian Sea<\/strong> and the Bay of Bengal<\/strong> are moving into Pakistan’s upper and central regions. At the same time, a westerly weather system<\/strong> is also affecting the country’s northern areas, contributing to the likelihood of widespread rainfall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the influence of this weather system, rainfall is expected in several districts of Sindh<\/strong>, including Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mithi, Sanghar, and Hyderabad<\/strong>. These areas may receive intermittent rain from the evening or night of July 31 until August 2<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Karachi<\/strong>, the PMD has forecast light to moderate rainfall<\/strong> between the evening of August 1 and August 2<\/strong>. However, the department clarified that heavy or torrential rainfall is not expected<\/strong> in the city from this particular weather system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the absence of a forecast for intense downpours, authorities have advised residents to remain cautious, as even moderate rainfall can lead to water accumulation in low-lying areas and traffic disruptions in parts of the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The PMD continues to monitor the movement and intensity of the weather system and has indicated that updates will be issued if there are any significant changes in the forecast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Citizens, especially commuters and motorists, have been advised to keep track of official weather advisories, avoid unnecessary travel during periods of rain, and take appropriate precautions to ensure safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
