Sukkur:<\/strong> A couple who entered into a love marriage staged a protest outside the Sukkur Press Club<\/strong>, appealing to senior authorities for protection, justice, the withdrawal of what they described as false criminal cases, and the recovery of a woman and her three children whom they alleged were being held unlawfully.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The couple, Marvi<\/strong>, daughter of Allah Diyo Sheikh<\/strong>, and Altaf<\/strong>, son of Bagan Sheikh<\/strong>, residents of Abra Stop, Babarloi<\/strong> near Sukkur, told the media that they had legally married of their own free will four months ago<\/strong> through the Justice of the Peace Court in Khairpur<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the couple, following their marriage, Marvi’s father Allah Diyo Sheikh<\/strong> and her brothers Zulfiqar<\/strong> and Ali<\/strong> allegedly began harassing them with the support of influential individuals and local landlords.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They further alleged that a false criminal case<\/strong> had been registered against them at Khanpur Police Station<\/strong> in Shikarpur district<\/strong>. The couple also claimed that their relative, Ashiq Sheikh<\/strong>, had been arrested and booked in fabricated cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The protesters alleged that Sehjan Sheikh<\/strong>, Ashiq Sheikh’s wife and Marvi’s sister, was being forcibly confined<\/strong> along with her three young children<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The couple also claimed they had received serious threats<\/strong>, including threats to their lives, and said they feared for their safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the protest, they appealed to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh<\/strong>, the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Sukkur<\/strong>, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shikarpur<\/strong>, and other relevant authorities to withdraw the cases they described as false, recover Sehjan Sheikh and her children, and provide them with legal protection and justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The couple warned that if their demands were not addressed promptly, they would be compelled to stage a protest outside the Sindh High Court Sukkur Bench<\/strong> and might resort to suicide<\/strong>. They said they would hold Marvi’s relatives and the Shikarpur Police<\/strong> responsible for any such outcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
