After Pakistan Idol<\/em> came to a surprise halt earlier this year, singer Zeb Bangash has confirmed the show will be returning soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bangash, who serves as a judge on the show, posted an earlier reel of herself in the makeup room on her Instagram story on Tuesday with a collage of pictures from the programme\u2019s set and a message for fans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cOur Pakistan Idol bulbuls<\/em> are back and so are we,\u201d the singer said, adding that the show would be coming to fans soon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThank you all for the love and for missing us so much. We missed you too,\u201d she wrote in her message.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Earlier, Bangash appeared to hint at the show\u2019s return when she responded to a comment on the same reel, which was posted on July 20, asking if the programme was \u201ccoming back\u201d. At the time, she just replied with a smiling emoji.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a twist that felt a bit like a cruel pre-April Fools Day joke, the second season of Pakistan Idol<\/em> left fans hanging just as they were set to find out which of the young musicians would take home the title. The show abruptly postponed its finale<\/a> on March 31, citing \u201cregional tensions rising and calls for national austerity\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The programme was set to return to TV after taking a break for Ramazan, with the final round \u201cjust weeks away\u201d, when organisers said it \u201cdid not feel right\u201d to continue a national celebration at such scale as violence in the region<\/a> escalated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Addressing the show\u2019s contestants, the announcement said their journey on the show was \u201cnot over\u201d and their moment to shine was \u201cnot lost. It is simply waiting.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is not clear when the next episode of Pakistan Idol<\/em> will air and the producers of the show and other judges haven\u2019t made any public comments on its return.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
