MUZAFFARABAD:<\/strong> Vote counting is under way following polling in 13 constituencies<\/strong> of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly<\/strong>, with early unofficial and unconfirmed results indicating a close contest between the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)<\/strong> and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Polling was held in constituencies across Mirpur, Kotli, and Bhimber<\/strong>, and preliminary results from a number of polling stations have started to emerge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LA-1 Mirpur-I<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

With results from 17 of 139 polling stations<\/strong>, PML-N candidate Azhar Sadiq<\/strong> is leading with 1,692 votes<\/strong>, while PPP candidate Muhammad Afser Shahid<\/strong> has secured 1,482 votes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LA-2 Mirpur-II<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

According to results from 34 of 149 polling stations<\/strong>, PPP’s Qasim Majeed<\/strong> is ahead with 3,103 votes<\/strong>, followed by PML-N’s Azeem Bakhsh Chaudhry<\/strong> with 2,409 votes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LA-3 Mirpur-III<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

With 11 of 161 polling stations<\/strong> counted, PML-N candidate Chaudhry Muhammad Saeed<\/strong> is leading with 1,766 votes<\/strong>, while PPP’s Chaudhry Yasir Sultan<\/strong> has received 1,021 votes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LA-4 Mirpur-IV<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Results from 2 of 162 polling stations<\/strong> show PML-N’s Chaudhry Rukhsar Ahmed<\/strong> in the lead with 327 votes<\/strong>, followed by PPP candidate Chaudhry Sohaib Arshad<\/strong> with 223 votes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LA-5 Bhimber-I<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

After counting votes from 15 of 176 polling stations<\/strong>, PPP’s Chaudhry Pervez Ashraf<\/strong> is leading with 2,310 votes<\/strong>, while PML-N’s Waqar Ahmed Noor<\/strong> has 1,767 votes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LA-6 Bhimber-II<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Unofficial results from 6 of 195 polling stations<\/strong> place Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) candidate Ali Shan Chaudhry<\/strong> in the lead with 1,313 votes<\/strong>, followed by PML-N’s Chaudhry Muhammad Razaq<\/strong> with 585 votes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LA-7 Bhimber-III<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

With 24 of 237 polling stations<\/strong> reporting, PML-N’s Chaudhry Tariq Farooq<\/strong> is leading with 4,614 votes<\/strong>, while independent candidate Chaudhry Anwar-ul-Haq<\/strong> has secured 2,295 votes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LA-8 Kotli-I<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

According to results from 9 of 155 polling stations<\/strong>, PPP candidate Zafar Iqbal Malik<\/strong> is ahead with 1,011 votes<\/strong>, while PML-N’s Malik Muhammad Nawaz Khan<\/strong> has 935 votes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LA-9 Kotli-II<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Results from 1 of 178 polling stations<\/strong> show PML-N’s Umair Naeem<\/strong> leading with 534 votes<\/strong>, while PPP candidate Javed Iqbal Budhanvi<\/strong> has 25 votes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LA-11 Kotli-IV<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

With 2 of 206 polling stations<\/strong> counted, PPP’s Chaudhry Muhammad Akhlaq<\/strong> is leading with 254 votes<\/strong>, followed by PML-N’s Muhammad Asif<\/strong> with 148 votes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LA-13 Kotli-VI<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

After results from 67 of 193 polling stations<\/strong>, PML-N candidate Raja Ayaz Ahmed Khan<\/strong> is leading with 10,389 votes<\/strong>, while PPP’s Muhammad Waleed Inqalabi<\/strong> has secured 8,785 votes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
