{"id":7626,"date":"2026-07-26T09:47:10","date_gmt":"2026-07-26T09:47:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/paksouch.com\/?p=7626"},"modified":"2026-07-26T09:47:11","modified_gmt":"2026-07-26T09:47:11","slug":"two-mosques-set-on-fire-by-israeli-settlers-in-occupied-west-bank","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/paksouch.com\/?p=7626","title":{"rendered":"Two Mosques Set on Fire by Israeli Settlers in Occupied West Bank"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Nablus:<\/strong> Two mosques were set ablaze overnight in the <strong>occupied West Bank<\/strong> in separate incidents that Palestinian officials attributed to <strong>Israeli settlers<\/strong>, amid continuing violence in the territory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to <strong>Abdul Azim Wadi<\/strong>, the mayor of the town of <strong>Qusra<\/strong>, south of Nablus, settlers set fire to a <strong>mosque that was under construction<\/strong> in the southern part of the town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The mayor said the attackers also spray-painted <strong>Hebrew-language graffiti<\/strong> on the mosque&#8217;s walls, including the word <strong>&#8220;revenge.&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a separate incident, the <strong>Palestinian Ministry of Religious Affairs<\/strong> said Israeli settlers set fire to another mosque in the village of <strong>Kour<\/strong>, near <strong>Tulkarm<\/strong>, and painted what it described as racist slogans on the building&#8217;s walls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The reported attacks came a day after clashes in the village of <strong>Tell<\/strong>, where <strong>four Palestinians and two Israelis were killed<\/strong>, according to the information cited in the report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, <strong>Israeli Army Radio<\/strong> reported that attacks by Israeli settlers against Palestinians increased by <strong>63 per cent<\/strong> during the <strong>first six months of 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the report, <strong>660 incidents<\/strong> involving settler attacks were recorded during the first half of 2026, compared with <strong>405 incidents<\/strong> during the same period in <strong>2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The report also stated that, since <strong>October 2023<\/strong>, at least <strong>1,185 Palestinians<\/strong>, including <strong>250 children<\/strong>, have been killed in the occupied West Bank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It added that <strong>at least 87 Palestinians<\/strong> have been killed in the territory so far in <strong>2026<\/strong>, including <strong>21 who were reportedly killed in attacks by Israeli settlers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The incidents are the latest in a series of violent confrontations in the occupied West Bank, where tensions have remained high amid ongoing conflict. The claims regarding the mosque attacks and casualty figures have been reported by Palestinian officials and media cited in the report.
