Peshawar:<\/strong> A meeting of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) parliamentary party in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reportedly turned tense after heated exchanges between the provincial chief minister and a group of dissatisfied lawmakers, according to party sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sources said the meeting was convened by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi<\/strong> to discuss the party’s planned movement for the release of PTI founder Imran Khan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the session, disagreements reportedly emerged, with dissatisfied members delivering strong speeches and openly expressing their concerns. According to PTI sources, the atmosphere became increasingly tense after Chief Minister Afridi addressed the gathering, leading to a sharp exchange of remarks between him and members of the dissident group.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sources said the chief minister appeared upset over the criticism levelled by the disgruntled lawmakers. In response, he assured participants that all of their reservations would be addressed and efforts would be made to resolve internal differences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the assurance, the meeting reportedly ended on a sour note, with the dissatisfied members walking out after the atmosphere became increasingly heated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking to Geo News<\/strong>, PTI Member of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Fazal Elahi<\/strong> confirmed that all parliamentary party members had attended the meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said the dissatisfied lawmakers had demanded that the party organise a convention where members would take an oath to actively support the movement for the release of the PTI founder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We demanded that, just as an oath was taken before the Senate elections, all party members should also take an oath to participate in the movement for the release of the PTI founder,” Fazal Elahi said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added that securing the release of the PTI founder would require practical action rather than speeches alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The release of the PTI founder will not be achieved through words alone; it requires action,” he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The reported disagreement highlights ongoing internal differences within PTI’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter at a time when the party is attempting to mobilise support for its campaign seeking the release of its founder.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
