The data also revealed similarly deteriorating conditions in other major cities of Punjab, indicating that the province is facing a widespread smog crisis even before the onset of winter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Air Quality Crisis Across Punjab<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Alongside Lahore\u2019s hazardous readings, other cities are also facing dangerously high pollution levels. <strong>Faisalabad<\/strong> recorded an AQI of <strong>325<\/strong>, <strong>Sheikhupura<\/strong> 311, <strong>Dera Ghazi Khan<\/strong> 239, <strong>Gujranwala<\/strong> 233, and <strong>Multan<\/strong> 224.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Environmental experts say that any AQI reading above 300 indicates \u201chazardous\u201d air, where prolonged exposure can lead to acute respiratory issues, lung infections, eye irritation, and long-term cardiovascular diseases. \u201cLahore\u2019s current air quality is comparable to being in a smoke-filled room 24 hours a day,\u201d said one environmental scientist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Morning Smog Turns into Health Emergency<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The situation worsened early Monday morning when <strong>dense smog<\/strong> blanketed Lahore, reducing visibility to a few hundred meters and creating hazardous conditions for both health and transportation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Lahore: Pakistan\u2019s cultural capital, Lahore, has once again earned the grim distinction of being the world\u2019s most polluted city, as its Air Quality Index (AQI) soared to an alarming 332, according to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
