temperature\u2014could rise to <strong>41\u00b0C or higher<\/strong> in parts of the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the PMD, <strong>hot and humid weather<\/strong> is expected to prevail throughout the day, with <strong>clear skies and intense sunshine<\/strong> during daylight hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The department said the <strong>maximum temperature<\/strong> over the next 24 hours is likely to remain between <strong>36\u00b0C and 38\u00b0C<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the time of the forecast, Karachi&#8217;s <strong>current temperature<\/strong> was recorded at <strong>29\u00b0C<\/strong>, while <strong>relative humidity<\/strong> stood at <strong>74 percent<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The PMD said <strong>light westerly winds<\/strong> were blowing at a speed of <strong>3 kilometres per hour<\/strong>, contributing to the humid conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It also noted that <strong>rain-bearing clouds may develop over the outskirts of Karachi<\/strong>, although no widespread rainfall has been forecast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Meanwhile, a weather analyst predicted that the <strong>heat index<\/strong> could climb to <strong>41\u00b0C or even higher<\/strong> in various parts of the city because of the combination of high humidity, rising temperatures, and light winds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The forecast comes as Karachi continues to experience uncomfortable weather conditions, with humidity making temperatures feel significantly higher than the actual air temperature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Residents have been advised to remain hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight during peak afternoon hours, wear light clothing, and take necessary precautions to reduce the risk of heat-related illnesses, particularly children, the elderly, and people working outdoors.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast an increase in heat and humidity in Karachi, warning that the heat index\u2014or &#8220;feels-like&#8221;
