KARACHI:<\/strong> Three suspects arrested in the Dr Akash murder case<\/strong> were killed during a police operation after allegedly coming under fire from their own accomplices, according to the Special Investigation Unit (SIU)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The SIU said the operation was carried out in Umar Brohi Goth, Gulshan-e-Maymar<\/strong>, where police raided a hideout based on information provided by the arrested suspects in an effort to apprehend other members of the alleged gang who remained at large.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the SIU, as police approached the location, the fugitives opened fire on the raiding team, triggering an exchange of gunfire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the shootout, a police officer was injured<\/strong>, the SIU said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police claimed that the three arrested suspects<\/strong> involved in the Dr Akash murder case were fatally shot by gunfire from their own accomplices<\/strong> during the exchange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The identities of the deceased suspects were not disclosed in the official statement. Authorities said efforts are continuing to arrest the remaining members of the gang who managed to escape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Background<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On July 13<\/strong>, Dr Akash<\/strong>, a young doctor, was shot dead outside a bank in Karachi’s Clifton<\/strong> area during a robbery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to police, the suspects intercepted the victim after he withdrew Rs5 million<\/strong> from the bank and fled after snatching Rs2.5 million<\/strong> in cash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the investigation, police submitted a report to the Judicial Magistrate (South)<\/strong> stating that an unidentified woman<\/strong> was also allegedly involved in the planning or execution of the robbery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Investigators had also revealed that the arrested suspects were allegedly involved in several other crimes, including snatching cash from bank customers<\/strong> and robbing businessmen<\/strong> outside banks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The investigation into the case remains ongoing, with law enforcement agencies continuing efforts to trace and arrest the remaining suspects.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
