Mamdani<\/strong> has called on the U.S. federal government to cooperate with the <strong>International Criminal Court (ICC)<\/strong> and execute its arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister <strong>Benjamin Netanyahu<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a video statement shared on social media, Mamdani said that while <strong>New York City does not have the legal authority to arrest a foreign head of government<\/strong>, the U.S. federal government does possess the relevant jurisdiction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He urged the federal authorities to work with the ICC and enforce the court&#8217;s arrest warrant against Netanyahu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mamdani stated that he agrees with the ICC&#8217;s decision to issue the warrant and said the city administration had reviewed all legal aspects of the matter under existing laws.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to the mayor, the review concluded that New York City has <strong>no legal authority<\/strong> to detain or arrest the Israeli prime minister.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In his remarks, Mamdani accused Netanyahu of committing <strong>war crimes<\/strong> and <strong>genocide against Palestinians<\/strong>, alleging that he bears responsibility for the deaths of more than <strong>73,000 people<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He further stated that Netanyahu would <strong>not be welcomed in New York<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ICC has issued arrest warrants related to the conflict, but the allegations remain contested, and legal and diplomatic disputes over the court&#8217;s jurisdiction and enforcement
