Sukkur (Press Release): Primary school teachers in Sindh launched a strong campaign on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) in support of their long-standing demand for a proper service structure, drawing the government’s attention to the issue. A large number of teachers from different districts of Sindh participated in the campaign and urged the Government of Sindh, particularly the Provincial Minister for Education, to make an early, positive, and practical decision regarding the service structure for primary school teachers. The teachers stated that primary school teachers play a vital role in providing children with foundational education, character development, and building their bright future. However, despite their significant contribution, they are not being provided with adequate opportunities for career advancement. They further pointed out that employees in other government departments enjoy regular promotion opportunities, while teachers in other cadres of the Education Department are also promoted. In contrast, depriving primary school teachers of career progression is a clear injustice. The teachers also highlighted that although Primary School Teachers (PST) and Junior Elementary School Teachers (JEST) are appointed in the same pay grade, there is a disparity in their service structures, which should be eliminated immediately. They demanded that either both cadres be granted an identical service structure or that the primary cadre be abolished and replaced with a single elementary cadre to ensure equal promotion opportunities for all teachers. The teachers emphasized that they have earned higher education degrees from universities across Pakistan and are entrusted with educating and nurturing the nation’s children. Therefore, they argued, it is their fundamental right to have a clear service structure and opportunities for promotion up to Grade 20. The social media campaign was led by teachers Abrar Soomro, Rashid Baloch, Arbelo Mangrio, and Jarwar Mir Mazhar, with a large number of teachers participating to raise their voices in support of the rights of primary school teachers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
