The new policy requires travelers to possess either a <strong>valid NICOP or a valid visa<\/strong> before they can board a flight to Pakistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The advisory further states that <strong>presenting a receipt showing that a NICOP renewal application has been submitted will not be accepted<\/strong> as a valid travel document. Travelers must have the actual valid NICOP in their possession or hold an appropriate visa before departure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Authorities have also instructed <strong>all airlines<\/strong> not to allow passengers to board flights to Pakistan if they are traveling with expired or cancelled NICOPs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The revised policy marks a significant change from the previous practice. Under the earlier system, overseas Pakistanis holding expired NICOPs were often issued a <strong>landing permit upon arrival<\/strong> in Pakistan, allowing them to enter the country and complete documentation after reaching their destination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With the introduction of the new policy, that facility has been withdrawn. Immigration authorities will now require travelers to meet all documentation requirements before travel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Officials say the updated rules are intended to strengthen immigration procedures and ensure that all passengers possess valid travel documents prior to departure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The government has advised overseas Pakistanis to check the validity of their NICOPs well in advance of their travel dates and renew expired cards before booking flights.
